Set high in the magnificent Savoie Alps, Tignes offers some of the best skiing in Europe with guaranteed snow all year. Val Claret, the highest village, offers the best access to the skiing, being very close to the foot of the glacier. It has a number of shops, supermarkets and many restaurants and bistros. Le Lavachet with chairlift links to Tovière and connections onto Val d'Isère, offers a variety of cafés/restaurants and a free bus service to Lac de Tignes (operating day and night). The lively village of Lac de Tignes, has runs leading directly back into the resort. There is a twice weekly market here, shops, bars and restaurants and an ultra-modern sports centre.
